this retreat is a testament of something we believe is lacking in our society.

we grew up in a world where women have to fit into certain standards.

"be skinny but have curves. have a career but run the household. be empathic but don't cry too much. always have a pretty face but don't wear too much make up."

these expectations are not only unrealistic and patriarchal, they also weight down on us and dictate our everyday life more than we realize.

this is why we created Nouran.

because sisterhood is so very powerful if we give it a space to grow and strive.

we believe that women have plenty of untouched potential and vibrance within themselves, a certain light that lays in the darkness beneath the piles of societies expectations and ones inner fears and traumas.

it is our mission to reach that very light, together but everyone for themselves.

✴︎ the story on how me met:

Mila was working at the reception of a Guesthouse in Imsouane, Shirin was in town for vacation. Thanks to a guy that hit on Shirin, she ended up in that very reception and in that moment, an instant bond was created.

Shirin was looking for a creative talent that could bring her visions to life, Mila needed someone to give her some damn work - it was meant to be.

What started out as a random encounter turned into something so much more meaningful than either one could have imagined.

Our story shows that sisterhood is waiting around every corner, especially when its least expected and most needed.

Together we were able to push eachother through hard times, realize our dreams and ambitions and create Nouran, which is only the beginning of our journey.

✴︎ fun fact

we actually only spent one afternoon together in real life, since Shirin had to go back to Germany right after we met and we also don't live in the same city.

Nouran was created through endless phone calls and only seeing eachother on the screen. but it was the deep connection an shared vision that made this project come to life nevertheless.
